puppy1.pngWhen you visit our hospital for the first time, you will be greated by one of our receptionists who will enter you and your pet's information into our medical record system.

Next you will be escorted to one of the exam rooms where one of our trained technicians will gather an extensive history regarding your pet's current and past medical condition, lifestyle and home life.  This information helps us to tailor each pet's care to their individual needs.  The technician will also weigh your pet, take their temperature and gather any samples for needed laboratory tests if required.

After the technician has finished, Dr. Williams will review the information and enter the exam room.  Dr. Williams will perform a comprehensive physical examination from the tip of your pet's nose to the tip of his/her tail, including a complete oral exam, eye and ear evaluation, heart and lung evaluation, skin exam, abdominal palpation (to evaluate the liver, spleen, kidneys and intestines), musculoskeletal exam and neurologic evaluation.  Any abnormalities will be communicated to you and recorded in your pet's medical record.  After performing the physical examination, Dr. Williams will recommend additional tests (if indicated by the physcial exam findings), treatments or vaccinations based on your pet's age and lifestyle.  If any lab tests were run, Dr. Williams will discuss the results with you.

At the conclusion of your visit the technician will gather any medications or supplements recommended by Dr. Williams and instruct you on their proper use and/or demonstrate how to administer them.  The technician will also gather any handouts that may help to explain your pet's condition or Dr. William's recommendations.  You will receive a detailed exam report card that lists the doctor's physical exam findings and any treatments that your pet received.  We will provide you with a folder to help keep all of your pet's important medical records together in one place.
